Why These Three Alarm Functions Matter in TPMS

A TPMS is not only used to display tire pressure. For a reliable tire monitoring system, it is also important to detect abnormal conditions and alert the driver in time.

Compared with basic TPMS products, our solution adds three important alarm functions:

1. Air Leakage Alarm

The system can detect abnormal or rapidly decreasing tire pressure and provide an air leakage alarm.

Without this function, a slow or sudden air leak may not be noticed immediately. The driver may continue driving with insufficient tire pressure, which can increase the risk of tire damage, overheating or even tire blowout.

With the air leakage alarm, the driver can receive a warning earlier and check the tire condition before the problem becomes more serious.

2. Sensor Low-Battery Alarm

Our TPMS can also monitor the battery status of the sensors and provide a low-battery warning.

When the sensor battery is too low, the sensor may not be able to work normally or transmit data reliably.

Without a low-battery alarm, the driver or user may not realize that the sensor battery is running low. This can result in missing or unreliable tire information when monitoring is needed.

The low-battery warning gives the user time to replace the sensor or battery before the sensor stops working normally.

3. Sensor Data Loss Alarm

Another important function is the sensor data loss alarm.

If communication between the sensor and receiver is interrupted, the system can alert the user instead of simply leaving the previous tire data unchanged.

Without this function, there is a risk that the display may continue showing the previous tire pressure or temperature data, even though the sensor is no longer transmitting updated information.

This can be misleading because the driver may think the displayed data is current when it is actually old data.

Automotive-Grade Sensor Chip

Our TPMS uses SNP739D01, SNP739D51 and SNP739D81 sensor chips, designed for automotive applications.

The sensor chips feature:

  • Low power consumption

  • Wide operating temperature range

  • Operating temperature: -40°C to +125°C

  • Stable sensor data transmission for TPMS applications

The wide operating temperature range makes the sensors suitable for different driving environments and temperature conditions.

Why These Functions Are Important

A basic TPMS may mainly display tire pressure and temperature. However, a more complete system should also tell the driver when the sensor itself has a problem or when the data may no longer be reliable.

The three additional alarms help cover these situations:

Function What it detects Without the function
Air Leakage Alarm Abnormal tire pressure loss Tire leakage may not be noticed in time
Sensor Low-Battery Alarm Low sensor battery Sensor may stop working without sufficient warning
Sensor Data Loss Alarm Loss of sensor communication Old data may remain on the display and cause misunderstanding

In short, these functions are not simply additional features. They help make the TPMS information more reliable and give the driver a clearer warning when something goes wrong.
